Overview

Moka is a pre-bottled mocha beverage that coffee and chocolate connoisseurs can enjoy on the go. The brand is an exercise in disruptive branding which opts for a bright, cheerful tone, encouraging its audience to savour the simple joys in life, like their daily commute.

Problem

The main challenge for this project was designing a coffee brand that stood out in a sea of competitors in a highly-saturated industry.

Solution

While many coffee products opt for a more artisan, gourmand feel, focusing on the ingredients and the flavour, I wanted people purchasing this hypothetical beverage to imagine themselves cheerfully drinking this "kick of cacao" on their daily commute.

For the accompanying advertising campaign, I decided to build a hypothetical holiday campaign for Moka to be released around Valentines day. This campaign playfully plays on the insight that people typically either love or hate Valentine's Day. However, whether you're a Valentine's Day lover or hater, we can all enjoy a little Moka.

As part of the Valentine's Day campaign for Moka, I designed a poster duo, an Instagram carousel, and stickers which people could use to say whether they're a Valentine's Day lover or hater.
